ATG Media announces the appointment of John Varney as advisor to the Board of Directors and Philip Gilgunn as Chief Technology Officer.

John Varney will advise the Board of Directors on all matters relating to existing and future technology. John brings a wealth of technology expertise and experience to the Board. His previous roles include global Chief Technology Officer for the BBC and Director of Technology for Granada Plc. In these roles John oversaw the launch of DTT in 7 of the 13 ITV Regions and managed the development of a range of new BBC digital services and its R&D division.

John is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and the Royal Television Society. He has an extensive number of non-executive roles including Director of Vislink Plc, Chairman of Distilled Group, Chairman of the Technology Advisory Board of Testplant Ltd, Board Member of Arcus Global and member of the Victoria & Albert Museum's Trustees Technology Strategy Committee.

Philip Gilgunn joins the senior management team as Chief Technology Officer. Philip is an established IT leader with over 15 years of senior management experience within manufacturing, consultancy and real-time online trading. He has a track record of building and developing IT systems with white label application spin-offs in technology driven industries to support expansion and growth. A passionate and innovative professional, Philip has led international teams to increase productivity and reduce inefficiencies. He is responsible for the development of ATG Media’s new generation of live and timed bidding software and white label applications.
