Figures just out show that the-saleroom.com’s new post-auction delivery service has packed and shipped more than £1.6m worth of art and antiques for around 3500 customers in its first six months.

“We are delighted that the launch period has been so successful,” says ATG Media Delivery Manager Marika Clemow, “but we are not about to rest on our laurels, which is why we are introducing a raft of new offers for 2014, while improving our operations on an ongoing basis.”

New pricing means better deals for customers and includes reductions on delivery for small-sized lots. Buy one small lot, for instance, and you can have it delivered anywhere in the UK for just £15. Buy two and the delivery price for both together is just £16, while for three it rises by just £1 to £17.

Lots with multiple items such as tea services, can be delivered from now on to anywhere in the UK for just £75, and there will be further price reductions to the USA and Canada. Meanwhile the-saleroom.com will introduce new delivery prices for Australia, China, India and New Zealand.

“A competitively priced, reliable delivery service is a must for buyers at online auctions – a fact made very clear to the-saleroom.com in feedback from customers,” says Marika. “Having failed to find an acceptable solution in the marketplace, our parent company ATG Media decided to launch its own service last year in order to meet the high standards those customers have the right to expect. The results speak for themselves in showing what an impact it has had.”

Knowing the price of delivery before you bid, with no hidden costs, removes the barriers to online bidding, so having such a reliable service is crucial to the future of the-saleroom.com.

Bidder Tony Wraight of Dorset explains; “Thank you for the most efficient and PERFECT service that you have offered me.  The range of items I purchased including fragile glassware, were all beautifully packed, and the carrier was exactly on schedule. Your staff were most helpful, your price was extremely fair. I will have absolutely no hesitation in recommending your wonderful service to everyone, and I will be using you often in the years ahead.”

The service already collects from auction houses in Bristol, Dorset, Essex, Oxfordshire, the West Midlands and West Scotland. Soon it will also cover Devon, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Somerset, Yorkshire and London.
