With Christmas just around the corner, it’s time to start ticking off the gift lists for the festive season. Now with significant disposable incomes, these diehard fans have the means to build collections or indulge in pricey one off’s pushing prices of originals up accordingly. The value of other iconic toys can also make huge returns, with one of the earliest editions of Monopoly recently selling for up to $120,000.

Signed and limited editions are of course always the best bet but if you are careful to retain, original packaging, tags and certificates, even standard versions may see significant returns.  If you are able to resist, leaving these unopened will give your investment a real edge.
